A Story of Strength. A Story of Trust.
When life asked more of her, Mrs. Tandin Pem answered with courage.
She joined RMF in Tsirang in 2015 with a simple intention: to save a little, to build something of her own. Through steady savings and timely loans, she began a small Juma street stall business in Rilathang. In 2019, life took another turn. Mrs. Tandin Pem moved to Thimphu. Her circumstances changed, but her commitment did not. She continued her journey with RMF by saving regularly, repaying on time, moving forward step by step. Today, she is in her 9th loan cycle, managing a loan of Nu. 300,000, with a repayment record that speaks of discipline and integrity.
Five years ago, she became a single mother to four sons. Every day, her street stall income goes toward rent, utilities, school needs, and groceries. And still, after meeting all her responsibilities and loan instalments, she saves, because she believes in tomorrow.
In 2025, RMF’s Thimphu Branch recognised her as one of the Best Clients, honouring not just her repayment record, but her resilience.
Mrs. Tandin Pem’s story is not about numbers.
It is about dignity.
It is about trust.
It is about what becomes possible when women are given access, respect, and belief.
At RMF, we exist for stories like hers, where perseverance meets opportunity, and strength quietly builds a better future.
Our symbol may be evolving.
Our purpose remains the same.
