From a Small Shop to a Growing Dream: The Story of Lungten Choden
At 36, Lungten Choden, a mother of three, has built her livelihood through determination, hard work, and the courage to seize opportunities when they come.
Lungten has been an RMF client since 2016. Over the years, RMF has been more than a financial service provider it has been a partner in her journey toward a better livelihood. With a Nu. 40,000 business loan availed from RMF, she upgraded and strengthened her small general shop, giving it a firmer foundation for growth.
But her ambition did not stop there. Looking for additional income to support her children, Lungten began selling garments at six RMF centers across Tsirang. Cleverly, she matches her visits to the centers’ meeting dates so when clients gather for RMF services, they also take the time to browse her garments and buy. In this way, RMF’s operations bring potential customers directly to her, and she earns roughly Nu. 10,000 to Nu. 15,000 by taking her products to different communities rather than waiting for buyers to reach her shop.
