For Pema Dechen, a resident of Samdrupjongkhar, daily life was once a physical struggle. She had no choice but to carry heavy bags of maize to neighbours’ homes to have them milled a task that became increasingly difficult and tiring with age.
Everything changed when she received her own grain mill with the support of RENEW Microfinance (RMF).
Today, Pema Dechen no longer has to burden herself with heavy sacks or rely on others. Operating her compact mill right at home, she has traded physical strain for greater independence, convenience, and confidence.
