A Journey of Trust, Hard Work & Saving: Mrs. Dechen Wangmo’s Story
Mrs. Dechen Wangmo, a resident of Thridangbi in Mongar, is one of RMF’s active and committed clients. She has been with RMF since 2019 and has continued to place her trust in RMF throughout her journey.
As a dedicated Centre Leader, she not only participates actively in Centre Meetings but also makes sure to turn up on time and encourages other members to do the same.
With the support of RMF, Dechen availed a loan to start and grow her small cornflake (Tengma) business. She processes corn into cornflakes, packages them, and sells them to generate income. The earnings from her business help her repay her loan while also supporting her family’s needs.
Beyond her own business, Dechen strongly believes in the importance of saving for the future. As a Centre Leader, she encourages fellow members to develop the habit of saving, reminding them that even a small amount saved regularly can provide support during unexpected situations and help build a more secure future.
For Dechen, her relationship with RMF is more than just borrowing and repaying. It is a journey built on trust, responsibility and mutual support. Since 2019, she has continued to believe in RMF and make use of the opportunities available to improve her livelihood.
Her story reflects how a small business, responsible borrowing, regular saving and the willingness to encourage others can create meaningful change not only for an individual, but for the whole community.
