RENEW MFI celebrates first World Saving’s Day in Bhutan.

World Savings Day was established on October 31, 1924, during the 1st international Savings Bank Congress in Milan, Italy. It is now celebrated across the globe. 2020 was the FIRST TIME TO CELEBRATE IN BHUTAN. RENEW Microfinance Pvt. Ltd. had celebrated the event grandly even with the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. The event was celebrated in the parking lot of RENEW building in Thimphu with around 60 audiences including the staff. It was also celebrated in all the other dzongkhags that we operate. RENEW Microfinance would like to thank Sparkassenstiftung für internationale Kooperation (SBFIC) Germany, for continuous support.

We honored and invited the best customers from all the 10 districts to Thimphu for the celebration of World Savings Day. The “best customers” are not those with the highest savings deposits, but the ones who actively support our work and encourage other customers to save money. These best customers were given one-day special training on Financial literacy at Norkhil Hotel. The trainer was Ms. Nangse Dema (The Head of Financial Literacy from RMA).
