Tshoki Lhamo is a farmer from Teowang, Punakha. She lives in Walathang with her husband, two children and her mother. She and her husband grew what they could in their land but that was only enough for them to feed their family as the animals graze and damage their crops.
Later, she heard about RENEW Microfinance and she started saving with us from May 2017, and right after the completion of her fifth month with the organization, she availed a loan amounting to Nu. 40,000 and decided to fence her field immediately. Slowly, this enabled her to produce a greater variety of crops and she is now able to generate surplus product that she sells at the local markets which generates more income. She now hopes to take further loan and grow more crops in her land which was underutilized because of the animals.
