Pabitra Darlami, mother of four is from Trashiling Moed, Shemjong Gewog under Tsirang Dzongkhag. She is the sole provider for her youngest son and her old husband. She has been a member of RENEW Microfinance from 2015. Since then she has been saving Nu.200 to Nu.300 every month with RENEW Microfinance. She is 66 years old, yet very determined and hardworking. Being a breadwinner, she regularly goes to the forest without fear of wild animals to collect ferns, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and other seasonal wild vegetables and sells them at the Sunday Market in Damphu. From these sales, she is earning around Nu.200 to Nu.600 weekly without any investment. She also works in her field during off vegetable seasons. She has saved well in these short period that she was able to bear all the expenses of her children’s weddings.
Mrs. Darlami is grateful to RENEW Microfinance for all the easy services it provide at her doorsteps where she can save every month even if the amount is only Nu.100.
She is famously known as “Negurai Ama” in her village and is an inspiration to all the women in her neighborhood.
